TEA

a solo work by Nasiv Kaur Sall

TEA emerged during a time when I felt lost in the tension between cultural binaries. I inevitably began creating this work as a way to find home within my own body, voice and practice. The movement is an extension of the grounding practices that guide my everyday life: meditation and movement. This work has become a touchstone in my practice — a guide back to the familial, cultural and internal roots that ground and liberate me.

TEA has the potential to be a transformative experience for audiences, specifically those who belong to marginalized communities or “misfits.” My dream is for this piece to echo with familiarity for those who share my heritage, and to open a door of empathy and connection for those who don’t.
